LOUISBURG - Shirley Bartholomew Carter, 82, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 2006 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 29, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg, with the Rev. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.

She was a native of Franklin County and the daughter of the late Walter Clayton Bartholomew and Bessie P. Dickens Bartholomew.

Surviving: a daughter, Cindy McManus (Eric) of Liberty; son, Mike Carter (Cade) of Louisburg; sister, Valerie Bass of Spring Hope; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
