LOUISBURG – James Russell “Mann” Bottoms, Sr., 74, of Louisburg, died Tuesday evening at his home.

He was a son of the late Thurston B. and Estelle B. Bottoms and was preceded in death by his brother, Jack A. Bottoms.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leo Bennett officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery. The family received friends 1 hour prior to the funeral.

James is survived by his wife, Vickie P. Bottoms; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Amber Bottoms; grandson, Rylan Bottoms; sisters, Jo Nell B. Horton and Madgie B. Cooper, all of Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Louisburg Fire Department “Maude” Fund, 102 Wade Ave., Louisburg, NC 27549.
