LOUISBURG – Rufus Denton “R.D.” Leonard, 76, died Friday morning, Oct. 19, 2012. A funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 21, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial followed at Saints Delight Baptist Church cemetery.

He was a son of the late Rufus and Dollie House Leonard. He was preceded in death by many beloved sisters and brothers.

Surviving: wife, Jeanette M. Leonard; daughters, Dena (Anthony) Stone of Louisburg, Jeannine (Todd) Pearce of Zebulon; sons,  G.W. Leonard, Kimmy and Connie Leonard, all of Louisburg; sisters, Falton “Punk” Jones of Louisburg, Beatrice Milton of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Saints Delight Baptist Church, 565 Firetower Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
