RALEIGH - Nell L. Whitehurst, 95, of  Raleigh, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. She was born on June 16, 1917 in Franklinton, to William and Cora Leonard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Whitehurst; siblings, Larkin, Hermus, Ashby, Howard, Mabel, Dot and Evelyn; and her parents.

Surviving: son, Dr. James A. “Al” Whitehurst (Diane); daughter, Kay Whitehurst Nagle (Bob); two step-grandchildren; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be today (Saturday, Oct. 27) at 1 p.m. in the auditorium at Springmoor Life Care Community, 1500 Sawmill Rd., Raleigh. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, 718 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC.
