LOUISBURG - John Coleman Edwards, 82, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at his home. 

He served his country in the United States Navy.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Hedgepeth Edwards.

Graveside services will be held today (Wednesday, Nov. 14) at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Kellie Gallagher-Smith officiating. 

Surviving: daughters, Sylvia M. Edwards of Louisburg and Tammy Edwards of Raleigh; sister, Faylene Edwards Murphy of Centerville. 

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Trinity United Methodist Church fellowship hall.  The flag at the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Edwards’s service to his country. 

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.
