LOUISBURG – Bertha Freeman Duke, 85, died  Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2012. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Dec. 1) at Hickory Rock Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. 

She was a daughter of the late John and Minnie Freeman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Allen Duke.

Surviving: daughters, Paulette Tully and Deborah Duke-Shearin of Wake Forest; sister, Ruby Pierce of Wake Forest; brothers, Joe Freeman of Creedmoor, J.W. Freeman of Durham and A.H. Freeman of Stem; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, Inc., 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
