YOUNGSVILLE - Mildred Catherine Pearce Murphy, 91, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Franklin County, daughter of the late Annie Gray Lancaster Pearce and George H. Pearce. She was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church where she taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for over 50 years. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Murphy, and her brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 13, 2013, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Haley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, James Wayne Murphy and wife Cindy of Youngsville; grandson, Bryant Murphy and wife Sharon; granddaughter; Shannon Murphy and husband Johnny; great-grandsons, Hunter, Joseph and Grayson Murphy; 3 step-grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
