JORDAN M. “J.M.” HIGHT


FRANKLINTON - Jordan McCray “J.M.” Hight, 81, died Monday in a Louisburg nursing facility. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 17) in the Franklin Funeral Service Chapel in Franklinton, with the Rev. Wayne Rigney and the Rev. McCrae Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery, with Masonic and military honors.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of Frank Bennett Hight and Dora Holmes Hight. He was a retired self-employed commercial sign painter. Hight served during World War II as a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving: his brother, Raymond (Gladys) Hight of Franklinton; sisters, Evelyn (Jack) Roberts of Durham, Betty Jane (Dale) Privette of Butner, and Annie Faye “Allie” Currin of Concord, and a close, personal friend, Darrow Beck.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Hight, and a brother, Frank Bennett Hight Jr.
