ZEBULON – Verna Delenia Batchelor Lewis, 86, of the Pilot Community, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at home. Funeral service was held at 2 pm, Tuesday, March 26, at Social Plains Baptist Church with burial following in the Lewis family cemetery.

A native of Franklin County, she was daughter to the late Ervin and Martha Mullen Batchelor. She sang in her church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie W. Lewis.

Surviving: son; Walter Lynn Lewis (Judeane) of Pilot; sisters; Mayola Weaver of Butner and Alice Berry and (Bill) of Maiden; brother, Marshall Batchelor of Pilot; and two grandchildren.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to WMU of Social Plains Baptist Church.
