FRANKLINTON - Mildred Corfield Spann, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at Oxford Manor in Oxford. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Feb. 3, at Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. W. S. Taylor officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

She moved to Baltimore, Md. in 1942. During World War II, Mrs. Spann worked for the Defense Department. After the war she was employed with English American Clothing Factory for 27 years.

Mrs. Spann was preceded in death by two husbands, Boyd Horton and Courtney Spann, and her daughter, Barbara Ann.

Surviving: two grandsons, Mitchell A. Horton (Karen) and Wilbert R. Hanner of Butner; two great-grandsons; two great-great-grandsons; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
