ZEBULON - Mavis Denton, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at Wellington Nursing Center. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 8, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Denton was born in Franklin County, daughter of the late Henry and Madie Medlin Denton. She retired from Wendell-Zebulon Hospital as an X-ray technician, having worked for more than 20 years.

Her husband, Barney Hoyt Denton; son, Ronnie Hoyt Denton; brothers, Dale Denton and Wilson Denton, and a great-grandchild preceded her in death.

Surviving: sisters, Pauline Jeans, Kathleen Pippin, Barbara Ann Wright and Evelyn Driver, all of Zebulon; brother, George Denton of Wendell; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Ronnie Denton College Fund at Pilot Baptist Church, 8103 Hwy. 39, Zebulon, NC 27597.
