Church anniversary
Nelson Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its 149th Church Anniversary during the 11:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Oct. 2. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Micah Mason of Raleigh. Music will be by the Male Chorus.

Choir anniversary
The Mass Choir of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 267 E. F. Cottrell Road, Louisburg, will celebrate its anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m.
Some of the choirs appearing will be South Main Street Choir, Good News Gospel Choir, Hawkins Chapel Choir, and others.

Yard sale
Hickory Rock Baptist Church will have its annual yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Ronald Tharrington Road and Hickory Rock Road (Ronald Tharrington Store yard). Yard sale items will include adult and children's clothes, baby items, toys, exercise equipment, furniture, and other miscellaneous items. Also included will be baked goods, sausage and ham biscuits, and hot dogs.

Homecoming celebration
Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 893 Bunn Elementary School Road, Bunn, will have its 156th Homecoming celebration Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
Services will begin Friday, Sept. 30, with a musical concert at 7 p.m. Community, Family & Friends Day will be observed Saturday, Oct. 1, which will include an antique car show, silent auction, cakewalk, bingo, bouncy houses for the kids, food, fellowship and fun. Free AD Books will be available also.
The annual Homecoming services will be Sunday, Oct. 2, at 10:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. The guest speaker for the afternoon service will be the Rev. Asa Bell, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Wendell. Dinner will be served following the morning worship service.

TEA services
TEA (Teaching, Empowerment, Anointing) services will be held Oct. 2 and 3 at Training and Empowerment Center, 115-123 W. Main St., Kittrell.
A Healing & Deliverance service will be held at 4 p.m. on Oct. 2. The messenger will be Apostle T. Edward Gray.
A Miracle Monday service will be held on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Apostle Buffie McIver will be the messenger.

Ushers' program
The Haywood Baptist Church Ushers' Ministry will observe its anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Bernice Richardson, associate minister of Nelson Baptist Church. All ushers are invited to attend.

Harris Chapel Baptist Church will observe Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Shannon Scott. Lunch will be served following the service.

Multi-family yard sale
A huge multi-family yard sale will be held at Highest Praise Church, 163 Hwy. 56 East, Louisburg, on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7 a.m. Items will include baked goods, baby items, and many miscellaneous items. Profits will go toward church ministries.

Breakfast/Yard sale
Bunn UMC will host a pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8-10 a.m. A yard sale will be held in conjunction with the breakfast.

Men's Day celebration
The First United Church of Christ, 20 West Green Street, Franklinton, will be sponsoring its annual Men's Day celebration, Sunday, Oct. 2, during the morning worship experience, which begins at 11 a.m. The theme this year is "Men Ready to Fight for the Kingdom." The speaker with be the pastor, Rev. Douglas Wooten.

Ushers' anniversary
First Baptist Church, 411 Spring Street, Louisburg, will have its Ushers' Anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. M. Rose Gill of Allen Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by her choir and ushers.

Musical birthday celebration
A musical birthday celebration for Sister Anita Allen-Coats will be held at Kinches Chapel Christian Church on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 5 p.m.
Appearing on the program will be the Souls of Calvary, James Martin and Harmony, Heavenly Voices and other area groups. The masters of ceremonies will be Brothers Alvin and Calvin Holden.

Informational workshop
A "Unity In Our Community" workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at South Main Street Baptist Church, 805 S. Main St., Louisburg.
The workshop will focus on police violence and how to respond if you are stopped by the police authorities. Information will be presented on law enforcement, race relations, crime and violence, consequences of committing a crime, and the physical, emotional and monetary costs of breaking the law. Speakers will be Franklin County Sheriff Kent Winstead, Louisburg Police Chief Rick Lassiter, Franklinton Police Chief John Green, Louisburg Police Sergeant Greg Alston, District Court Judge Adam Keith and Thomas Clifton, attorney. Special music
The Lettuce Hall Baptist Church of Spring Hope will observe a service devoted to the trees of the Bible on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. Eight different speakers will speak and musical guests will be in attendance. This service is sponsored by the Pastor's Aid ministry.

The Hickory Grove Baptist Church will celebrate the church's Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 2, @ 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Charles Falcon of Wise will be the guest speaker.
