RALEIGH - Maylon Jones Frazier, 91, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 25, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial followed in the Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Youngsville.

He was born and reared on a farm in Franklin County, the son of the late Grover Haywood Frazier and Goldie Hagwood Frazier. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as an aerial gunner in WWII and later attended Hardbarger Business School where he received an accounting diploma. Mr. Frazier retired as a Captain after 28 years from the City of Raleigh Fire Department and was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh. He volunteered for several mission trips, along with his wife, in the 1980’s, having served in Togo, West Africa.

Surviving: wife, Hallie Ray Frazier; brother, Russell Wayne Frazier (Clara) of Youngsville; two nieces; three nephews; several great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sallie Alford Frazier Dail.
