CHARLIE G. HIGHT JR.


FRANKLINTON - Charlie G. Hight Jr., 87, died Wednesday in a Raleigh hospital. Cryptside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, March 17) at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Judi New officiating. Emtombment will follow in the family mausoleum.

Mr. Hight was retired co-owner of Henderson Pharmacy. Born in Franklin County, he was the son of Charlie G. Hight Sr. and Bradford Gibbs Hight. He was a former town commissioner and former mayor of Franklinton and served on the local ABC Board for 25 years.

Surviving: his wife, Lura Ogburn Hight; a daughter, Harriet H. Mills (Roger) of Raleigh; a sister, Louise Person of Oxford; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charlie G. Hight III.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Franklinton United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
