FITZGERALD “SAM” HOLLEY


FRANKLINTON - Fitzgerald “Sam” Holley, 87, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 20, at Oak Level Christian Church, Youngsville. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Johnston County to the late Ashford K. Holley and Allie Ryals Holley. Mr. Holley served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was retired from the Department of Transportation.

Surviving: his wife, Stella Bryan Holley; daughter, Ila Mae H. (Lewis) Johnson of Franklinton; sons, Gerald (Sandy) Holley of Emerald Isle, William “Bill” (Barbara) Holley of Youngsville, and L. Wayne Holley of Cary; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to Oak Level Christian Church Building Fund, 2279 Cedar Creek Road, Youngsville, NC 27596.
