FRANKLINTON - Freddie D. Piper, 73, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today (Saturday, March 24) in the Franklin Funeral Service chapel in Franklinton, with the Rev. Bobby Piper officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of Arthur Lee Piper and Ann Liza Carpenter Piper. He was a retired painter.

Surviving: daughters, Sylvia Wilkins of Wake Forest and Bonnie Bridges of Franklinton; a son, Irvin D. Piper of Franklinton; a sister, Annie Bell Piper of Henderson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Faye Wood Piper.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today (Saturday) at the funeral home.
