HENDERSON - Rubert Benjamin Pearce Jr., 79, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at his home on Kerr Lake. Graveside services were conducted Monday, April 24, in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton, with the Rev. Canon Ted Malone officiating.

Mr. Pearce was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Charlotte Pearce and Rubert B. Pearce Sr. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University and a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy.

Surviving: his wife, Mary Jo Husketh Pearce; son, Dr. Rubert B. “Bert” Pearce III (Laura) of Morehead City; sister, Elizabeth Fuller of New Bern; and two granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 4390, Chapel Hill, NC 27615 or the charity of one’s choice.
