ALEXANDER H. TIPPETT


HENDERSON--Alexander Hamilton Tippett, 73, of the Epsom Community, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at his home. A memorial service was held Sunday, Dec. 31, at New Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Owens. Burial, with military honors, followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Henry Crawford and Margaret Hedgepeth Tippett, and was the widower of Patsy Hendley Tippett. He was the owner/operator of Alex's Garage. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving: daughters, Virginia T. Campbell (Durwood) and Danielle T. Pulley (Eric); sisters, Elizabeth Tippett, Katie Louise Wood, Shelby Goodwin (Johnny), Mary Ray (Millard), Helen Inman (Charlie), and Dorothy Woodlief (Benny); brothers, William Tippett (Shirley), Roy Tippett (Jean), James Tippett (Rhonda), and Frank Tippett (Gail); and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Baby Boy Tippett and Charlie Tippett.
