LOUISBURG - John Daniel “J.D.” Aycock, 88, of 68 Raymond Tharrington Road died Friday morning at his home.

J.D. was a son of the late Joseph C. and Rosa Lee Gupton Aycock. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alberta Moore, Etta Mae Nash and Emily Aycock; brothers, Gilmer Aycock and Grady Aycock.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Story officiating. Burial will follow in the Aycock Family Cemetery.

J.D. is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris M. Aycock; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie R. and Linda Aycock, Michael J. and Eva Aycock, all of Louisburg; brother, Julius Aycock of Raleigh; grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Becky, Jason and his wife Amanda, Sara, Daniel and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Alex and Drew.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, P. O. Box 60, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, and other times at the home.
