GARNER - Clyde Sherrod Lancaster, 81, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Rex Healthcare. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 26, at Highland Baptist Church. Burial followed at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late James J. “Jim” and Ethel Sledge Lancaster. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired Greyhound bus driver, with 35 years of service.

Surviving: daughter, Kim (Ben) Pugh of Garner; one granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Harper Lancaster; brothers and sisters, James Lancaster Jr., Marion Lancaster Merritt, John Mack Lancaster, Mary Ethel Lancaster Strickland, Hazel Lancaster Everhart, Russell and Robert Lancaster, and Morris “Peck” Lancaster.
