YOUNGSVILLE - Janie DeMent Perry, 90, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at her home. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, July 24, at Pope’s Chapel United Church of Christ cemetery, with the Rev. Don Ward and the Rev. Russell Hucks officiating.

Mrs. Perry was born in Franklin County, daughter of the late Irma Aycock DeMent and William Mack DeMent.

Surviving: sons, Allen Perry of Hampstead and Ben Perry Jr. of Sherrills Ford; sisters, Josephine Leonard of Raleigh, Margaret Schepp of Wake Forest, Marie DeMent of Youngsville and Betty Wrenn of Louisburg; brothers, Robert DeMent and Mack DeMent, both of Youngsville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Green Perry Sr.; sisters, Ruth Oakley and Irma DeMent; brothers, George DeMent, William DeMent and Herbert DeMent.
