BUNN - Vernon Cevie Smith Jr., 59, died Sunday, July 22, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 26, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was a former employee of Bantek Inc. and a deacon of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.

Surviving: his wife, Caroline Johnson Smith; son, Vernon C. Smith III; mother, Betsy Smith of Charlotte; four brothers; one sister; and six grandchildren.
