ZEBULON - Melvin Ray Wood, 66, of Coventry House died Saturday, July 28, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 30, at Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell. Burial followed in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

A native of Franklin County, he was the son of the late Henry Ausley and Athalee Gupton Wood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances C. Wood.

Surviving: his sons, Gary Wood (Denise) of Zebulon, and John Wood (Jennifer); and five grandchildren.
