NATHANIEL ALSTON


HOPEWELL, Va. - Nathaniel Alston died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007 at Southside Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, in the chapel of Tuckers Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va., with Pastor Michael McCray officiating. Interment will be in Patron Family Cemetery, Chesterfield, Va. Family and friends assemble at 1301 Roanoke Ave., Hopewell, at noon.

He was the son of the late Prince and Ester Alston. He was formerly employed at Richard Brown Trucking Co. and Man Power and UPACO.

Surviving: his wife, Alma T. Alston of Hopewell, Va.; daughters, Shirley Alston (John), Amy Arrington (Willie) of Louisburg, Bobbie Hartsfield of Chesterfield, Va., Jennifer Lawton (Calvin), and Lynisha Davis (Antonio) of Hopewell, Va.; son, Robert Alston Sr. (Cynthia) of Oxford; sisters, Vernice and Dorothy Edmondson of Kenly; brothers, Danny Alston of Middlesex, Henry Alston of Littleton, and Ernest Alston of Wilson; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
