ZEBULON - W. K. “Bud” Williams, 79, died Saturday evening, Sept. 29, 2007 at Wake Med. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 3) at Union Chapel Baptist Church, 2437 Zebulon Road, Zebulon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Williams was born in Columbus County to the late George Williams and Nettie Edwards Williams.

Surviving: children, Ray Williams and Hilda W. Wright of Zebulon, Mitchell Williams (Marie) of Stanley, Jerry Meares of Clover, S. C., Ernestine W. Hobbs of Wilmington; brothers, Mack Williams of Bristol, Va., Harry Williams of Ashland, Ore.; sister, Thelma W. Monroe of Martinez, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Meares Williams, and a brother, Hubert Williams.
