EARVIN “BAY-BAY” BRODIE


FRANKLINTON - Earvin “Bay-Bay” Brodie, 74, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 20, at First Baptist Church of Franklinton, with the Rev. Diane F. Dozier officiating. Interment followed in the Hawkins Baptist Church cemetery in Franklinton.

He was born in Franklin County to the late Albert and Bessie Mann Brodie. He attended public schools in Franklinton, and later relocated to New York. Mr. Brodie started his career as a truck driver for a meat market company and later became the owner of his own meat company, E & E Meat.

He was preceded in death by six of his siblings: Marie Fogg, Willard Brodie, Mack Brodie, Melvin Brodie, Alberta Williamson, Naomi Parker and two sons, Larry Brodie and William Brodie.

Surviving: his wife, Eddie Marie Brodie; one son, Anthony Thomas Brodie (Tahisha); sisters, Evelyn Howard of Augusta, Ga., Eloise Gale of Henderson and Mary Brodie of New York; brothers, Wheeler Brodie of Franklinton, John Brodie of Augusta, Ga., and Joe Brodie of New Jersey; and two grandchildren.
