JOSEPH G. PIKE


KINSTON - Joseph “Gordon” Pike, 86, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 4, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, Kinston, with the Rev. Archie Ratliff and the Rev. David Paramore officiating. Burial was Monday, Nov. 5, at the Pike family cemetery in Pink Hill, with the Rev. George Earl Pike officiating.

He was born to Galey and Edith Heath Pike of Pink Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Grover, Garland and James Pike; and two sisters, Dora Koonce and Rosa Pike.

Surviving: his wife, Elreesa Gurganus Pike; son, Joseph Daniel Pike (Chan) of La Jolla, Calif.; brothers, George Earl Pike of Pink Hill and Gardner Pike of Richlands; sisters, Ruby Shorkey of Franklinton, Lummie Faulkingberry of New Bern, and Lottie Smith of Rougemont; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Missions Fund at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1936 Banks School Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
