ALEXANDER ADAMS JR.


FRANKLINTON - Alexander Adams, Jr., age 82, a resident of 365 Wes Sandling Rd., died Friday at his home. He was a native of Morganton, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Alexander and Verna Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ray Woodlief Adams. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church and was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Franklinton Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. Clyde Waiden and Chaplain Allen Murphy. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean Huff and husband Bobby of Oxford and Ella Wilson of Franklinton; two sons, Thomas Woodlief and wife Teresa and Douglas Woodlief and wife Claudia, all of Franklinton; three sisters, Dorothy Peralta, Agnes Shier and Mary McMurray, all of California; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also a family friend, Sylvia Ray. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Adams.

The family received friends Sunday night from 7:00 until 8:30 at the Franklin Funeral Service. At other times they were at the home.
