LOUISBURG - Nannie Rosa “Dub” Smith Ayscue, 87, of the Alert community died Sunday evening, Nov. 25, 2007. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 28) at Alert Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Pernell family cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Ayscue; daughter, Florence Radford; sons, Eugene Ayscue, Robert Ayscue, Tommy Ayscue, Donny Ayscue and Allie “A.D.” Ayscue. She was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Sarah Faulkner Smith.

Surviving: daughters, Sarah Ayscue and fiancé, Ken Martin, Rose Pernell (Marvin) and Elsie Gupton, all of Louisburg; sons, John Ayscue (Dianne), William Ayscue (Jean) and Thomas Ayscue (Irene), all of Louisburg, and Raymond Ayscue (Dorothy) of Henderson; 34 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 61 great-great-grandchildren.
