DURHAM - Edward Noel Smith, 92, formerly of Franklin County, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at the Brian Center of Durham. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 28) at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church cemetery, 4879 NC Highway 56 E., Castalia.

Mr. Smith was a retired merchant and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae Smith.

Surviving: his son, Edward N. Smith Jr. (Gloria) of Durham; one granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
