ARTHUR F. BEELER


EDENTON - Arthur Franklin Beeler, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Pettigrew Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Durham. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 19) at First Presbyterian Church in Edenton, with the Revs. Doug Eddy and Jewe Love officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Mertie Mae Smith and George Henry Beeler and was the husband of the late Mary Perry Beeler. Mr. Beeler served for more than 21 years as a member of the U. S. Marine Corps, retiring as a commissioned warrant officer. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He worked for many years after his retirement from the Marine Corps at Parker Evans Hardware in Edenton.

He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Barbara Beeler, Mary Violet Stetzenbach and Lorene Velva Nold; and his two brothers, George Herbert Beeler and Junior Allen Beeler.

Surviving: his sons, Arthur F. Beeler Jr. (Jo) of Franklinton and the Rev. Joseph Beeler (Joyce) of Columbus, Ohio; and one granddaughter.
