RICHARD E. FRYE


WAKE FOREST - Richard Etheridge “Dick” Frye, 93, died Saturday morning, Jan. 12, 2008 at Wake Medical Center. A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Ruth Etheridge Frye and John Richard Frye. He was the former owner and operator of Dick Frye’s Restaurant on S. White Street in Wake Forest from 1949-1964, and then owned Bob Sauls BBQ in Raleigh from 1964-1984.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Gibbs Frye; four brothers, and one sister.

Surviving: his children, Bobbye Collins of Garner, Rick Frye of Valdez, Ark., and Kandy Frye of Moncure; sister, Betsy Frye Mitchell of Raleigh; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
