KITTRELL - Paul Gill Rowland, 91, did Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Maria Parham Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 19) at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carol Dean. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born in Vance County, the son of the late John Paul Rowland and Bessie Harris Rowland, and was a retired supervisor for J.P. Taylor Tobacco Company.

Surviving: two grandsons, Paul O’Brien Gill Rowland of Kittrell and Edwin Gill Rowland Jr. of Spring, Texas; two nieces; and two nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Jackson “Teenie” Rowland; his children, Edwin Gill Rowland, Patsy Rowland, Paula Rowland, and baby boy Rowland; two brothers, Randolph Rowland and Dwight Rowland; and two sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Mary Allen Finch.

The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Plank Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Darlene Ranes, 2120 South Lynnbank Road, Kittrell, NC 27544.
