WAKE FOREST- Sophia G. Ellington, 68, died Tuesday evening February 5, 2008 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. She was born in Wake County, daughter of the late Lither Hagwood Ellington and James Ellington, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Janie Chestnut and Violet Gilleland. Ms. Ellington was the owner and operator of Artistic Floors.

Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Thursday, February 7, 2008 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Brad Reynolds officiating. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by a daughter, Theresa Woodlief and husband Robert of Wake Forest; son, Darnell Allen and wife Lisa of Wake Forest; daughter, Marilyn Thaxton of Franklinton; grandchildren, Mary Beth Woodlief, Zollie Woodlief, Crystal Thaxton, Daniel Thaxton, Peter Allen, Dustin Allen and Darnell Christian Allen; brothers, Woodrow Ellington and wife Miraluna of Lillington, Larry Ellington and wife Liz of Apex, Junior Ellington of Wake Forest, Earl Ellington and wife Daun of Cary; beloved niece, Debra Vick and husband Billy, and their children Leslie, Karson, Kayla of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Nursery Fund, 1487 N.C. 96 E., Youngsville, NC 27596.
