ZEBULON - W. Glen Mitcheltree, 74, died Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Strickland Funeral Home chapel, Wendell. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens with military honors.

He was born in Pennsylvania, son of the late Hersel and Lois Rosenberry Mitcheltree, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving: his wife, Shirley A. Mitcheltree; son, Jerome (Jerry) Mitcheltree of Newport, Tenn.; daughters, Carol Whitfield of Newport, Tenn., Deborah Kaltenbaugh of St. Cloud, Fla.; stepdaughters, Connie Lee of Courtland, Ohio, Tracie Whitehouse of Raleigh, and Cheryl Katrenick of Austin, Texas; sisters, Jean Mitcheltree, Charlotte Basler, and Ruth Richter, all of Pennsylvania; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Mitcheltree.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Grace Fellowship, 75 Liles Dean Road, Wendell, NC 27591 or to Heartland Hospice, 3117 Poplarwood Ct., Ste. 114, Raleigh, NC 27604.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, and other times at the home.
