W. H. “BUGGAR” HOPKINS


ZEBULON - W. H. “Buggar” Hopkins, 83, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 28, at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was the son of the late “Teet” and Lucy Pearce Hopkins and a life-long resident of the Hopkins Cross Roads community. He was a retired tobacco farmer, tobacco warehouseman and store owner.

Preceding him in death were his sisters, Zola Duke, Viola Nowell and Polly Brannan, and his brothers, Ivan, Willie B., Billy and Cecil.

Surviving: his wife, Florence Pleasants Hopkins; daughters, Donna Jean Wiggins of Raleigh, Jan Pearce (Jimmy) of Zebulon, Robin Thomas (Dave) of Youngsville, Macon Hopkins of the home; son, Brandon Hopkins (Lori) of Zebulon; brothers, Kenneth Hopkins (Sue) and Harvey Hopkins, all of Zebulon; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
