YOUNGSVILLE - Gerald “Gerry” Alfred Field, 78, born in Chester, Pa., died Friday, March 22, 2008. Services will be conducted at a later date.

Surviving: his wife, Janet Read Virnelson of Youngsville; son, Steven Gerald Field of Bloomington, Ill. (fiancé, Amy Elizabeth Robillard); sister, Dorothy Coleman of Minneapolis, Minn.; stepchildren, Kelley Chisholm of Raleigh, Nancy Summer of Louisburg and Joseph Griner of Charlotte; nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mitzi Beamon Field.
