FRANKLINTON - Alma Gaye Allen, 87, died Monday, March 24, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 29, at Hawkins Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Walter S. Taylor officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

She was born in Granville County, the daughter of the late Robert and Grizell Banks Taylor.

She attended Hawkins Chapel Baptist Church until her health declined.

Surviving: her husband, Roy Allen Sr. of the home; one daughter, Christine Brown (Vernon) of Baltimore, Md.; sons, Roy Earl Allen Jr. of Franklinton and Larry Donnell Allen of Wake Forest; sisters, Mary Frances Scott of Franklinton, Fannie Lee Jones (Samuel) of Baltimore, Md., and Virginia Harris of Richmond, Va.; brothers, John Henry Taylor and Willie Lee Taylor, both of Richmond, Va.; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
