WAKE FOREST - Joseph “Joe” Janik Jr., 72, died Friday, April 4, 2008 at his residence. A mass of Christian burial service was conducted Monday, April 7, at St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church, with Father Philip Tighe officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Plymouth, Pa., the son of the late Catherine Dorshefski Janik and Joseph John Janik Sr. He was an automobile salesman and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving: his daughter, Mary Anne Hooker (Steven) of Raleigh; sons, Mark Janik (Teresa) of Virginia Beach, Va., Jeff Janik (Lindy) of Louisburg; brother, Raymond Janik (Carole Ann) of Ventura, Calif; sister, Bonnie Janik of Virginia Beach, Va.; former wife, Dorothy Janik; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
