FRANKLINTON - Geraldine Eleanor (Gerry) Gilmore died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Duke Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 13, at Kinches Christian Church in Franklinton, with the Rev. Willie Nixon III officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie instate at the church prior to the services.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late David and Ellen Thompson. She was a career nurse, with employment including Britthaven Nursing Center in Louisburg.

Surviving: husband, George Gilmore Sr. of Franklinton; six children, Gerry, George Jr., Dolores Hope, Robert and Wayne; sisters, Gloria Culmer and Doris Sessoms; and one bother, Frank Thompson; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at E.C. Terry’s Funeral Service chapel in Henderson from 6 to 7 p.m. today (Saturday, April 12) and other times at 11 Maurice Way, Franklinton. The remains may be viewed Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m.
