WOODROW V. “JIMBO” LOYD


APEX - Woodrow Vinson “Jimbo” Loyd, 48, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008. A funeral service was conducted Friday, April 18, in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. David R. Palmer. Burial with military honors followed in the Apex Cemetery.

He was born to Edward V. Loyd and LaVern Woodlief Loyd. He was a sergeant in the N.C. Army National Guard Reserves in Youngsville. He also worked with Coca Cola Co. as a special events coordinator for 30 years.

Surviving: his wife, Barbara Loyd; mother, LaVern Loyd of Franklinton; brother, Freddie Loyd (Tracie); sisters, Dawn Robinson (Richard), Gwen Sanders (Mike), all of Franklinton; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Loyd, and brother, Maurice Loyd.
