RALEIGH - Linda Hobson Baird, 56, of Durham, died Thursday, May 18, 2008, at Duke Hospice of the Meadowlands. Funeral services will be conducted at noon today (Saturday, May 17) at the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

She was born in Raleigh to Lester Olen and Lilly Harris Hobson, both of whom preceded her in death. Professionally, she was an administrative assistant at Sun Trust Mortgage.

Surviving: her husband, Michael Baird; sons, Robert M. Hutzler III (Paige) of Charleston, S.C., Michael Christian Baird (Traci) of Franklinton, Kenneth Brandon Baird (Tiffany) of Timberlake; daughter, Misty Le ane Latta (Ernie) of Durham; brothers, Daniel Hobson and James Hobson; sisters, Pat Ramsey and Sylvia Odom; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association or the charity of choice, in memory of Linda.
