ZEBULON - Roma Lester Wilder, 88, died Monday, June 16, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 19, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service. Burial followed in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, with honors provided by the Raleigh Fire Department.

He was born in Johnston County to the late Henry Vester Wilder and Elva Davis Wilder. He was retired from the Raleigh Fire Department with over 30 years of service.

Surviving: son, Jerry Michael Wilder (Wanda) of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister, Lila Wilder Tevepaugh of Zebulon; brother, Orlin Wilder of Lake Gaston; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Whitley Wilder; son, Bobby Hugh Wilder; sisters, Irene W. Carroll and Wanda W. Moody.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 NC 96 Highway, Zebulon, NC 27597.
