ZEBULON - Eva Mavis Alford Lockleair Johnson, 82, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Sandra. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 14) at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, Knightdale, with the Rev. Brother Billy Sullivan and the Rev. Brother Ray Ted Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Christian Baptist Church cemetery, 8225 Mitchell Mill Rd., Zebulon.

She was born in Wake County to the late Johnnie Alford and Mattie Perry Alford. She was retired from Square D Company after 15-1/2 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, G. T. Lockleair and Jessie Johnson; daughter, Alma Lee Lockleair; and a brother, Jesse B. Alford Sr.

Surviving: daughters, Ilene L. Brantley (Dennis) of Middlesex, Sandra L. Cortner (Ronnie) of Zebulon; sons, George Thomas Lockleair Jr. of Zebulon, Johnny Wayne Lockleair (Susan) of Zebulon; brother, Howard Alford of Zebulon; sisters, Ada Grace Woodlief of Raleigh, Christine Alford of Zebulon, Ruth A. Hicks of Zebulon and Slvia A. Bolton of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.
