ROGER L. “SNAPPER” PEARCE


ZEBULON - Roger Landon “Snapper” Pearce, 68, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today (Saturday, June 17) at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, with the Rev. Earl Roach and the Rev. Ricky Anderson officiating. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon.

He was born in Franklin County to the late John O. Pearce and Blanche Davis Pearce. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Westinghouse with 37 years of service.

Surviving: his wife, Faye Hopkins Pearce; daughter, Angela P. Pearce of Zebulon; sisters, Grey P. Baker of Knightdale, Annie P. High of Wendell, Genny P. Wheeles of Bunn; brothers, Bill Pearce of New Britain, Conn., Lee Pearce of Garner, Louis Pearce of Wake Forest; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rupert, Ben, Joe and John Pearce; sisters, Mary P. Ussery and Patty P. Perry.
