LOUISBURG - Funeral services for James Henry “Preacher” Woodard, age 67, who died on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, were held on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the Haywood Baptist Church in Louisburg with the Rev. Luther Coppedge officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Woodard is survived by: his wife, Ruby Alston Woodard, of the home; daughters, Tammy Young, of Norfolk, VA, and Tracy Boone, of Louisburg; sons, Michael Woodard and Donnie Woodard, both of Raleigh; mother, Catherine Woodard, of Louisburg; sisters, Edith Woodard, Betty Baker, Carolyn Wilkins, Barbara Sue Woodard, and Doris Woodard, all of Louisburg, Peggy Woodard and Christine Woodard, both of Raleigh, Ruth Woodard, of Greensboro; brothers, Eddie Lee Woodard, David Woodard, John Woodard Jr., Clarence Woodard and Joseph Woodard, all of Louisburg, seven grandchildren.
