A. EARL CARTER


LOUISBURG - Algie Earl Carter, 82, died Monday morning, June 19, 2006 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 20, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg, with the Rev. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late James Willie and Ruth Lena Catlett Carter. He was a WWII Army veteran and retired from Burlington Industries.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Carter.

Surviving: his wife, Shirley B. Carter; daughter, Cindy McManus (Eric) of Liberty; son, Mike Carter (Cade) of Louisburg; sisters, Myrtle Carter of Louisburg, Willie Hardegree and Mildred Parker, both of Raleigh; brothers, Glynn Carter (Harlow) of Louisburg and James Carter of Chewelah, W. Va.; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
