WAKE FOREST - William Steve Davis, 69, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 21) at Wake Forest Church of God, with the Rev. Mike Wells and the Rev. Doug Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Ruth Moody Davis and Claude Milton Davis. Mr. Davis was employed for 18 years with the Wake Forest Police Department as a telecommunications operator. Following his retirement, he was a greeter at Wal-Mart for five years.

Surviving: his wife, Faye Carpenter Davis; daughters, Andi Hodges (Richard) of Sachse, Tex., Debbie McCaslin (Derrick) of Raleigh; sister, Margaret Hicks of Youngsville; and seven grandchildren.
