PASTOR TOM AND DEBBIE CAVERLY


KINSTON - Pastor Thomas Michael “Tom” Caverly, 55, and Debra Kerby “Debbie” Caverly, 51, died together on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 27) at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, with the Rev. Ben Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

Debbie was born in Elba, Ala., daughter of Sue Hurley Kerby and the late Leo McKinley Kerby. She was a secretary at New Hope Baptist Church in Kinston.

Surviving: daughter, Michelle Caverly of Kinston; son, David Caverly (Lisa) of Youngsville; mother, Sue Kerby of Russellville, Ala.; sister, Donna Darby of Alabama; and two grandchildren.

Pastor Tom was born in Chicago, Ill, son of the late Janet Ann Southgate Caverly and Myran Royce Caverly. He was employed at the Baptist Children’s Home in Kinston and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving: daughter, Michelle Caverly of Kinston; son, David Caverly (Lisa) of Youngsville; sisters, Judy Morrow (Rex) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Pam Turner (Butch) of Florence, S.C.; brother, Rod Caverly (Luisa) of Mint Hill; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Caverly, 117 New Castle Ct., Youngsville, NC 27596.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the home of David and Lisa Caverly, 117 New Castle Ct., Youngsville, NC 27596.
