CLARA B. WEEKS


RED OAK - Clara Bryan Weeks died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at her home. Graveside services were conducted at Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

She was born in Newton Grove to the late Albert and Isabel Bryan.

She was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and did graduate work in the field of education at East Carolina University. During World War II, she served in the Military Intelligence Division of the War Department, Washington, D.C.

She retired from the Nash County School System in 1981, after more than 30 years of teaching.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Weeks; a son, David Ashley Weeks; a grandson; sisters, Mary Britt, Annie Perry and Gladys Williams; brothers, Cecil, Luby, Shelton, Sam and Mutt Bryan.

Surviving: a son, J. Michael Weeks (Carol) of Zebulon; daughters, Olivia L. Weeks of Buies Creek and Cathy W. Dennis of Castalia; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
